2024 is already looking bright for the Low Carbon Energy Company!

12th February 2024

The skies may be a little changeable at the moment, but we’ve got a sunny disposition right now here at Low Carbon Energy! We’ve had a very strong start to the year, passing both our ISO 9001 and 14001 audits with flying colours, and with big plans on the horizon for the commercial solar projects we’re installing for clients in 2024. Here’s the latest on what’s been going on with us – and why that matters to you!

We’ve passed two key audits with flying colours

We’re proud to announce that we’ve successfully completed the ISO 9001 and 14001 audits, with no non-conformances. As you probably know already, an ISO audit is conducted by ISO-approved auditors, and it’s a particularly extensive examination – encompassing our whole process, from client contact to system delivery. We’re required to evidence a full audit trail, from informing the client on cost and specification, to project management, health and safety, communication, handover, and aftersales.

14001, on the other hand, provides a framework to assess our environmental performance, and essentially how proactive we’re being in working towards our sustainability goals. (As you might expect, it’s something we care very deeply about at Low Carbon Energy!) Specifically, the 14001 looks at elements like our resource usage and waste management, as well as our level of compliance with legal obligations, and what measures we take to ensure we monitor our ongoing progress towards environmental targets.

In both audits, the inspectors found no non-conformances – which means you can have complete peace of mind in objectively high standards of safety, efficiency and performance in any solar PV installation we deliver for you.

Big projects on the horizon

We’ve also secured orders for an additional 3 megawatts of solar energy to be installed across three sites over the next few months, which is going to save a total of about 840 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. To put that into perspective, that’s about 105 times the average household’s annual carbon footprint! It’s a significant figure that reiterates our commitment to the quality of service and delivery, and will help our customers make big progress on cutting their carbon emissions in line with sustainability plans, particularly in the ever accelerating race to Net Zero.

What’s more, these upcoming installations will save a total of about £670,000 for our clients, as well as enabling them to benefit from a variety of further ‘soft’ benefits, like a boosted Corporate Social Responsibility, and an improvement on its scores of Environmental, Social, and Governance – three criteria which are increasingly being used by partners and investors to judge businesses on their long-term commitment to climate goals.

And of course, that’s just a sample of the kind of benefits that your own business can enjoy with commercial solar panels – feel free to check out our post on their full range of advantages for more!
