Free Solar for Schools

6th February 2015

Are you a school teacher, a governor, or perhaps you have a child at school? If you’ve answered yes to any of the above, get your school to join the Free Solar for Schools programme!

Working with industry leading installation partners, like Low Carbon Energy, Free Solar for Schools offers schools, nurseries, colleges and universities the opportunity to reduce energy bills through the installation of solar panels to generate electricity. This of course comes with the benefit of making their establishment greener and playing a key role in the community by cutting carbon emissions.

Benefits for your school’s finance sheets and students’ education

There is absolutely no cost to join the programme and a whole host of benefits. Once your new solar PV system has been installed, you can expect cheaper electricity bills, lower carbon emissions as well as additional educational resources for the Key Stage 2 science curriculum.

Your students will be given a “hands on” opportunity to see the workings of the new system and will be able to monitor live solar panel performance – which they could incorporate into a school project or coursework. The people behind the programme also have factsheets on solar power for students of all ages, which can be supplied to your school.

At Low Carbon Energy, we have also decided that as part of the offer we will come into your school and help teachers deliver lessons on solar and the power of the sun.
